Women in Cannabis: AnamiTech Welcomes a New Member of the Board of Directors

Kathryn Blackwell joined the AnamiTech team as a member of the board of directors in October 2022 to help shape the direction of the company and push the growth forward for the investors and the team.

What is her background?

Kathryn is a highly effective and visionary executive leader with over 30 years proven expertise in strategic marketing, franchise solutions, and corporate social responsibility programs. Kathryn is best known as the Co-Founder of Kahala Corp, the global franchisor of brands such as Cold Stone Creamery® and Blimpie® Subs and Salads among others.

After Kathryn sold her interest in Kahala Corp, she became the Founder & Managing Partner at the QOR Group. This management consulting firm works alongside its clients as one team to bring integrated operational expertise and deliver continued results in CSR programs, retail growth plans, product innovation, and marketing programs. “It was really interesting, being able to apply so much of what I have learned and experienced over 30 years into another industry.”

Most recently Kathryn Co-Founded and is CEO of Open Dør Dispensaries, a turnkey, national franchise dispensary model for cannabis industry enthusiasts. Open Dør Dispensaries takes the complexity out of cannabis for both the dispensary franchise operator and the customers looking to become educated and find quality products for their needs.

Kathryn finds passion and joy in supporting and mentoring women in business. She is involved in several noteworthy women’s groups including Women Employed in Cannabis, the Cannabis Marketing Association, Blunt Brunch, the International Franchise Association, and the Women’s Franchise Network in order to support women in finding their path in business and their seat at the table.

How did she get introduced to AnamiTech?

A mutual investor in Open Dør and AnamiTech made the introduction between Kathryn and the AnamiTech leadership team to offer feedback on the Greenspace platform for franchise locations. Kathryn saw the value in GreenSpacePro and GreenGovPro and knew this is a company she wanted to help shape and grow. “I’ve always had a passion for technology and how it can streamline operations.” The relationship blossomed from providing feedback to being more involved by coming in and help drive the company. Kathryn is optimistic about growing her future with AnamiTech.

Why did she join the team?

Kathryn has a superior aptitude for assessing evolving business challenges with strategic decision-making skills in a results-driven environment. She has extensive entrepreneurial experience in building e-commerce retail concepts and franchising brands, with a keen understanding of branding and brand development for retail, and restaurant concepts.

Kathryn has high hopes for AnamiTech’s future. “I would love to see AnamiTech benefit multiple industries, such as the food and beverage industry and general retail operators.”
